Bangladesh Railway has urged passengers to buy train tickets only through authorised channels, warning of potential fraud, financial losses and misuse of personal information when using unauthorised platforms.
In a notice published on its website on Tuesday, the railway authority said it would not be liable for financial losses, fraud, misuse of personal information or account blocking resulting from ticket purchases or attempted purchases through unauthorised websites, apps, Facebook pages, individuals or third parties.
Passengers have been advised to use the official e-ticketing website https://eticket.railway.gov.bd, the Rail Sheba app or authorised railway ticket counters to purchase tickets.
The authority also cautioned passengers against sharing their passwords, one-time passwords (OTPs), National Identity Card (NID) details or other confidential information with anyone.
