Nine flights from Dhaka to Riyadh have been cancelled over the past three days due to the continued closure of King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia following Houthi attacks, affecting 3,012 passengers.
Kawsar Mahmud, assistant director of the Public Relations Department at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), confirmed the information on Monday.
He said the flights were cancelled because operations at Riyadh airport had not yet resumed.
The cancelled flights include two operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, one by US-Bangla Airlines, three by Saudia and three by Riyadh Air.
Kawsar said further steps would be taken once operations at Riyadh airport resumed.
