AMDA Bangladesh held a discussion on the experiences, achievements, challenges and future priorities of a project aimed at protecting the rights of persons with disabilities in Dhaka on Monday.
AMDA Bangladesh Executive Director Sardar A Rajjak chaired the discussion at a restaurant in Banasree, while Dhaka District Social Services Officer Abu Sayeed Md Kawsar Rahman attended as the chief guest.
AMDA Bangladesh Project Coordinator Uttam Howlader presented details of the project, including its achievements, challenges and future priorities.
Self-advocates Ryan Rahman Labib and Jannatul Ferdous Sumaiya also spoke at the event.
Representatives of Manusher Jonno Foundation and the Down Syndrome Society of Bangladesh, along with self-advocates and their guardians, were present.
The program was moderated by AMDA Bangladesh Program Officer and Safeguarding Focal Point Ahmad Ibn Saleh.
Officials from relevant government agencies, disability organizations and special education institutions also attended the program.
