Health ministry seeks content creators’ support to fight dengue

State minister urges influencers to promote preventive practices and behavioural change alongside medical measures

Update : 17 Sep 2026, 07:11 PM

State Minister for Health Dr MA Muhit has called on popular content creators to help raise awareness about dengue and promote behavioral change, saying digital content can complement medical measures to prevent infections and deaths.

He made the call at an exchange meeting with leading content creators and social media influencers at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s conference room on Thursday.

The meeting discussed engaging popular digital content creators in dengue prevention to promote positive behavioral changes beyond conventional government awareness campaigns.

A coordinated three-month action plan for dengue prevention and public health protection was also discussed at the meeting.

Muhit said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and hospitals are preparing to provide dengue treatment.

He said 3,000 doctors are receiving refresher training, while steps are being taken to ensure adequate supplies of saline and keep the necessary number of hospital beds ready.

However, the state minister said strengthening treatment alone would not be enough to reduce dengue infections and deaths.

He stressed the need for behavioral change among people, saying public awareness and preventive practices are equally important in the fight against dengue.
