Training for police personnel to enhance their skills and capacity to perform election duties in the upcoming local government elections began at 114 venues across the country on Wednesday.
Inspector General of Police Md Ali Hossain Fakir formally inaugurated the training at the Police Headquarters on Wednesday morning. Senior police officials were present.
The two-day training began for 38,847 police personnel who have not previously received election-related training. A total of 4,965 personnel are taking part in the first batch.
Earlier, 152,175 police personnel received election training ahead of the 13th parliamentary election.
They will also receive a one-day refresher training ahead of the upcoming local government elections. The refresher training will begin after the completion of the election training for the local government polls.
