Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman on Friday said he want to believe that Sheikh Hasina returns in December and goes to jail taking responsibility for the mass killings.

He said, "Sheikh Hasina has said she will return to the country in December. I also want to believe that Sheikh Hasina returns in December and goes to jail taking responsibility for the mass killings. Let her walk the legal path. The power of law is far-reaching; the law will proceed on its own course."

The minister made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a views-exchange meeting titled "Future Shailkupa" and a memorial meeting for late eminent artist Mustafa Monowar held at the Shailkupa Upazila Parishad Auditorium in the district on Friday morning.

Asaduzzaman said, "We cannot say that she did not kill the people of Bangladesh, we cannot say that she was not involved in killings, enforced disappearances, and mass killings. If she wants to face those truths, then she should certainly come."

The views-exchange meeting and memorial meeting for late eminent artist Mustafa Monowar was also attended by local Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Noman Hossain, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mia Mohammad Ashish Bin Hasan, Shailkupa Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, and Upazila BNP General Secretary Humayun Babar Firoz.
