Senior journalist and freedom fighter Khondokar Mohammad Abul Hasnat, widely known as Kismat Khondokar, died at a city hospital on Wednesday evening. He was 69.
Kismat Khondokar, a senior correspondent at online news portal Banglanews24.com and senior member of the Economic Reporters Forum (ERF), breathed his last at Nagorik Specialized Hospital in Jahurul Islam City (Aftabnagar) around 7:30pm, family sources said.
His nephew Risat said the journalist was staying at his sister’s house at Aftabnagar and was taken to the hospital after he fell ill, where he died.
According to the ERF, he will be buried at his village home in Mirzapur of Tangail district on Thursday.
Meanwhile, ERF President Doulot Akter Mala and General Secretary Abul Kashem expressed profound shock at Kismat Khondokar’s death.
In a condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
