Fatema Tuz Zohra, the mother of July uprising martyr Abdullah Bin Jahid, on Tuesday met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman along with her cancer-stricken son, Mahmudullah Bin Jisan.
She met the Prime Minister at his office at the National Parliament Secretariat where the Prime Minister also assured her of a job, said a release issued by the Prime Minister's Press Wing.
Member Secretary of Amra BNP Poribar Krishibid Mokhsedul Momin Mithun was also present.
Abdullah Bin Jahid was shot dead on the night of August 5, 2024, during the July uprising.
Two weeks later, the family learned that Jahid's younger brother, Mahmudullah Bin Jisan, had been diagnosed with cancer. Seven months later, the family also lost the children's father.
The series of tragedies left the family in severe financial hardship, particularly as Jisan's cancer treatment became increasingly costly.
According to the Press Wing, Tarique Rahman had extended support to the family while serving as BNP Acting Chairman and arranged assistance for Jisan's treatment through Amra BNP Poribar.
Since then, the organisation has coordinated Jisan's treatment under the supervision of Atiqur Rahman, now Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister.
The Press Wing said the Prime Minister has continued to monitor Jisan's treatment and ensure the necessary support for his medical care.
