A total of 77,069 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have returned home from Saudi Arabia as of Monday after completing their Hajj.
"A total of 211 return flights were operated by three designated carriers—111 by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 70 by Saudia Airlines, and 30 by Flynas Airlines," Bangladesh Hajj Office Director Md Lokman Hossain said.
The official added that, so far, 4,459 Hajj pilgrims have returned under government management, while 72,610 have returned under private travel agencies' arrangements on 211 flights.
According to airline-wise data, 34,122 pilgrims arrived on 111 flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 25,377 on 70 flights of Saudia Airlines, and 11,043 on 30 flights of Flynas Airlines.
Besides, 6,527 Hajj pilgrims arrived on other carriers.
The remaining pilgrims are expected to arrive gradually through designated airlines, Md Lokman Hossain said.
Besides, 55 Bangladeshi pilgrims and Hajis passed away due to illness and other physical complications. Of them, 37 were men and 18 were women.
According to the Hajj bulletin, 37 pilgrims died in Makkah, 17 in Madinah, and one in Jeddah.
No deaths have been reported in Mina or Muzdalifah.
According to the Hajj bulletin, a total of 415 pilgrims received treatment from various hospitals in Saudi Arabia due to various diseases, while seven pilgrims were hospitalized.
Saudi medical centers provided treatment to 67,140 Hajis, while IT provided desk services to 28,452 Hajis in Makkah and Madinah.
This year's Hajj operations began with the first outbound flight on April 18 and concluded on May 21.
The return Hajj flights started on May 30 and will continue until July 1.
The total pilgrim quota was 78,500, including 4,565 under government management, while 73,935 went under private arrangements, according to the Hajj office.
