Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam said Amnesty should not intervene in the arrest of two journalists in the case involving crimes against humanity in the Shapla Chattar massacre.
He made the comments at a press conference at his office at the International Crimes Tribunal on Sunday afternoon.
Responding to journalists’ questions about an investigation into the Awami League as a party, he said he had no information about the matter.
He said the investigations into 31 cases of crimes against humanity linked to the July movement were in the final stage.
Referring to the investigation report in the Sagar-Runi murder case, he said it was unfortunate that the investigation had not been completed even after so many years.
He also said that after joining the tribunal, he had sent seven cases back for reinvestigation. The charge sheets in those cases will be filed after Eid.
