A fire that broke out in an 11-storey building in the capital's Banani area, was brought under control on Wednesday evening.
The fire originated on the 11th floor of the building located beside a local kitchen market at Road No-12, House No-44, around 6:30pm, Fire Service Media Officer Anwarul Islam said.
Seven firefighting units brought the fire under control at 8:15pm.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be immediately determined.
