A total of 53,069 candidates have applied for vacant head teacher and assistant head teacher posts in private MPO-listed educational institutions across the country, officials said on Tuesday.
The written examination is scheduled to be held on April 18, according to the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA).
The information was disclosed by NTRCA Chairman Md Aminul Islam at a press conference held at the authority’s conference room on Tuesday morning.
Officials said there are 12,951 vacant posts in private MPO-listed educational institutions nationwide. Of these, 11,151 posts are for head teacher and assistant head teacher positions across institutions under different education directorates.
Among the applications received:
- 7,908 are from institutions under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE)
- 112 are from institutions under the Technical Education Directorate
- 3,131 are from institutions under the Madrasah Education Directorate
NTRCA said the recruitment process follows the publication of the “8th NTRCA Recruitment Examination-2026 (Revised)” circular issued on March 25.
Of the total applicants, 47,351 are male and 5,718 are female, according to official data.
The NTRCA chairman said preparations for the examination are underway and the post-exam recruitment process will continue actively.
He also noted that the authority plans to conduct two recruitment drives each year to address the shortage of teachers in private educational institutions across the country.
