BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman will visit the party’s central office in Dhaka’s Naya Paltan on Saturday for the first time after taking charge as prime minister.
He made the announcement on Friday afternoon while attending a discussion organized by the BNP at the Institution of Engineers, Dhaka, on the occasion of Independence Day.
Speaking to party activists at the event, he said: “I will come to Naya Paltan tomorrow. I want to see you. I will see who all come.”
His remarks triggered enthusiasm among the activists, who responded with slogans.
Later on Friday night, the BNP’s media cell formally announced that Tarique Rahman would go to Naya Paltan.
It may be mentioned that Tarique Rahman returned to the country on December 25 after nearly 2 decades. He last visited the party’s central office on December 29.
