Colonel Iftekhar Ahmed, acting director general of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), has announced that foolproof security measures have been implemented at the National Eidgah and across the country for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

He shared this information during a press conference following his inspection of the National Eidgah on Thursday afternoon (March 19).

The RAB DG stated: "To ensure overall security for Eid-ul-Fitr, RAB has increased intelligence surveillance throughout the country. Battalions have deployed an adequate number of RAB members in their respective areas of responsibility. For nationwide security during the Eid celebrations, RAB has established control rooms, striking reserves, foot and mobile patrols, vehicle scanners, observation posts, checkposts, and CCTV monitoring."

Comprehensive preparations and a multi-layered security system have been established to ensure safety at the National Eidgah in the capital, he also said.

Col Iftekhar Ahmed also mentioned that in addition to securing home-bound travelers, RAB battalions are maintaining special surveillance at bus terminals, railway stations, launch terminals, ferry ghats, and important public gathering spots. Strict action will be taken against any ticket manipulation or charging of extra fares.

Security has also been intensified at other major Eidgahs across the country, such as Sholakia Eidgah and the Gor-e-Shahid Baro Eidgah in Dinajpur. These locations will undergo security sweeping and will be under full CCTV coverage.

Regarding the prevention of provocative information, the acting DG stated: "RAB has taken necessary steps to prevent the spread of any rumors, provocative information, or fake news in the virtual world surrounding Eid."

He noted that a cyber-monitoring team is conducting 24/7 surveillance online.

The RAB director general hoped that like previous years, the people of the country will be able to join the festivities of Eid with great enthusiasm and joy.
