The first cabinet meeting was held at the conference room of the Cabinet Division at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Thursday.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman presided over the meeting, said his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
After the cabinet meeting, Rumon said: "The prime minister went to the Osmani Memorial Auditorium from the Secretariat to distribute the Ekushey Padak 2026 at a ceremony held there."
