The elected members of the 13th National Parliamentary Election will take their oaths on Tuesday.
The cabinet will also take their oaths later that day. Election Commission Secretary Akhtar Ahmed confirmed the schedule at a press briefing on Saturday.
The newly elected MPs will be sworn in Monday morning by Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin, while President Md Sahabuddin will administer the oath to the cabinet members in the afternoon.
The 13th National Parliamentary Election was held on February 12. Voting took place in 299 of the 300 constituencies. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) won 209 seats, while Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami secured 68 seats. The National Citizens Party (NCP), part of the 11-party alliance, won six seats, and Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, contesting under the same alliance, won two seats.
Additionally, one seat each was won by the Bangladesh National Party (BJP), Gono Odhikar Parishad, Ganasamhati Andolon, Khelafat Majlis, and Islami Andolan Bangladesh. Independent candidates claimed seven seats.
