Mirza Abbas promises development, drug-free society in Dhaka-8 campaign

He attended a rally organized by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Workers and Employees Union in front of the BTCL building on Eskaton Road

BNP candidate and Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas campaigned in support of the party’s sheaf of paddy symbol in the Dhaka-8 constituency.

On Monday at around 11:30am, he attended a roadside rally organized by the Bangladesh Telecommunications Workers and Employees Union in front of the BTCL building on Eskaton Road in the capital.

Union president VP Md Hanif, along with other leaders and activists, was present at the programme. Addressing voters, Mirza Abbas called on them to vote for the sheaf of paddy symbol.

He said the area had seen little development in the past and promised that, if elected, he would focus on improving roads and overall infrastructure. He also pledged to work towards building a society free from drugs.

Following the rally, he was scheduled to carry out public outreach from Ward No 21 of Shahbagh police station to the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro area, and later in the Bikar Paltan area.
