The current cold wave sweeping parts of the country will continue for three to four more days until January 11, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
According to the regular bulletin of the Met Office: “A mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna and Barisal divisions and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalgonj, Kishoregonj, Manikganj, Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Netrokona, Moulvibazar, Lakshmipur and Comilla and it may continue.”
Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country during midnight to morning and it may continue till noon at places.
Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged and day temperature may rise slightly over the country.
The weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.
The country’s lowest temperature was recorded at Badalgachhi in Naogaon at 6.7°C while Dhaka recorded the season's lowest 11.9°C on Wednesday.
Besides, the well-marked low over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian ocean persisted over the same area.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify further. Its associated trough extends up to North Bay. Ridge of Sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining western part of Bangladesh.
