A youth named Siam, 21, was killed in a crude bomb explosion thrown by miscreants from the Mogbazar Flyover onto the road below, police said.
The incident occurred in front of the Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command in the Mogbazar Mor area. Siam was an employee of Zahid Car Decoration in Mogbazar.
Masud Alam, deputy commissioner (DC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Ramna Division), confirmed the incident. He said the explosive appeared to have fallen directly on Siam, causing him to die at the scene. The identities of those responsible remain unknown.
Eyewitnesses told police that Siam was walking along the road to get snacks from a shop when the bomb exploded. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
