Journalist dies in Khilgaon Flyover motorcycle accident

According to in-charge of the DMCH Police Outpost, his body has been kept in the DMCH morgue for autopsy

Zahir Uddin Bhuiyan, a sports journalist for the newspaper Vorer Pata, died in a motorcycle accident on Khilgaon flyover on Sunday afternoon.

He was initially rescued in critical condition and taken to Mugda General Hospital. His son, Rakib Uddin Bhuiyan, later transferred him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 4:45 PM for better treatment. After examinations, the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Rakib Uddin said his father worked as a senior reporter covering sports for Vorer Pata.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH Police Outpost, confirmed the death and said the body has been kept at the DMCH morgue for an autopsy.

Zahir Uddin was the son of Shamsuddin Bhuiyan of Chapitala village in Muradnagar upazila, Cumilla. He lived with his family on Lane 17, Basabo, under Sabujbagh Police Station, and is survived by two daughters and a son.
