MRT Police recovered two unexploded crude bombs from the metro rail track between Kazipara and Shewrapara on Friday morning.

The crude bombs were wrapped with scotch tape inside Betel nut tins.

The DMP Bomb Disposal Unit later neutralized and removed them.

MRT Police received the alert around 9am, after maintenance workers spotted the devices lying on the track near pylons 288 and 289.

Inspector (Investigation) Sohel Chowdhury said no damage occurred to the metro line. A case over the incident is underway.

He added there is no CCTV footage from the exact spot as the track is elevated. Police are collecting and analyzing footage from nearby buildings and shops to identify who placed the devices.

For the past two weeks, miscreants have been detonating crude bombs in several areas of the capital, while unexploded devices have also been recovered.

In the latest blast incident, an ASI of DMP’s Pallabi police station was injured.
