Miscreants set fire to a branch of Grameen Bank at Amtali in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district early Wednesday.
Noticing the fire around 2am, security guards of the bank brought the fire under control with the help of local people, said Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bijoynagar Police Station.
Md Kalim Uddin, manager of the bank, said a window was found broken and some wood pieces, caps of two bottles were found inside the office.
Three ceiling fans, a shelf, and some important documents were gutted and burned in the fire.
A general diary was lodged with Bijoynagar police station.
Investigation is underway, said the OC.
