JnU Journalists Association celebrates anniversary with daylong festivities

The 19th founding anniversary of the Jagannath University Journalists Association (JnUJA) was celebrated with a variety of events throughout the day.

On Friday at 10am, a colourful rally began in front of the vice chancellor's building on campus and concluded at the Muktomancho. The anniversary celebrations officially commenced there with a cake-cutting ceremony.

Present at the event was the Acting Vice Chancellor and Treasurer of the university, Professor Dr Sabina Sharmin. On the occasion, she remarked: “JnUJA has played a significant role in campus journalism over the past two decades. I am hopeful that their contribution will continue in the future as well.”

JnUJA President Imran Hossain said: “Jagannath University Journalists Association was established on June 20, 2006. This two-decade-long journey is a moment of pride for us. We will continue our commitment to truthful and impartial journalism.”

Also present were the Proctor of the university, Professor Dr Md Tajammul Haque, the Director of the Public Relations and Publications Office, Dr Muhammad Anwarus Salam, and the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Professor Dr Md Manzur Morshed Bhuiyan.

After the rally, a reunion and fruit festival were held with participation from former members of JnUJA. Both former and current members of the organisation attended the event.
