In the last 24 hours, five people in the country have tested positive for Covid-19.
This information was disclosed in the regular Covid-19 press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday.
On Sunday, coronavirus was detected in the bodies of three out of four individuals whose samples were tested. In other words, the number of infections identified has increased by nearly 67% within a day.
The press release also stated that six people have recovered from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
Last Thursday, one person died of Covid-19 in the capital. The DGHS reported that the deceased was a male patient undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued on Friday by Md Mamun Or Rashid, public relations officer of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, it was stated: “Considering the rising rate of Covid-19 infections, everyone is requested to wear masks in crowded areas. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has especially advised elderly and ill individuals to avoid such places.”
