A total of 59,101 Bangladeshi pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj this year.
As of 2:59am on Sunday, a total of153 flights—both government and private—have transported the pilgrims.
Of them, 4,583 travelled under government management and 54,518 under private agencies.
According to the latest Hajj bulletin, nine Bangladeshi pilgrims—eight men and one woman—have died so far.
So far, 74 pilgrims have received treatment at government hospitals in Saudi Arabia, and 26 remain admitted.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has operated 79 flights, Saudia 53, and Flynas 21.
The first dedicated Hajj flight took off on April 29 with 398 pilgrims, marking the official start of this year’s pilgrimage.
Departures will continue until May 31.
Hajj is likely to take place on June 5, subject to moon sighting. Return flights will begin on June 10 and end on July 10.
This year, 5,200 pilgrims are travelling under government arrangements, while 81,900 are going through private agencies. A total of 86,927 visas have been issued—fulfilling 100% of the quota.
