The government has decided to abolish the women’s quota in recommending teacher appointments to vacant positions at private educational institutions.
The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education issued a notification in this regard.
Signed by Senior Secretary Siddiqur Zobair on May 15, the notification was published on the division’s website on Thursday.
The notification states: "There will be no women’s quota in recommending appointments to entry-level teaching positions at various private educational institutions."
It further states that the minimum educational qualifications and conditions for the positions of "Assistant Teacher (Physical Education)" under serial 24 of the school section in Appendix-Gha (Ka) and "Physical Education Teacher" under serial 15 of the college section in (Kha) of the Manpower Structure and MPO Policy-2021 for private educational institutions (schools and colleges) will remain unchanged.
