Sarjis backs women's rights, opposes promotion of LGBTQ culture

'If, under the guise of such demands, there is any direct or indirect promotion of vile and destructive cultures, then we must stand in opposition'

Sarjis Alam, chief organizer of the National Citizen Party (NCP) for the northern region, has said that while there will be full support for any rational demands aimed at protecting women's rights, certain conditions will apply, opposing people promoting LGBTQ culture.

The NCP leader made these remarks in a post on his verified Facebook page on Sunday.

While expressing support for women's logical demands, Sarjis wrote: “If, under the guise of such demands, there is any direct or indirect promotion of vile and destructive cultures such as homosexuality, transgender identity, or LGBTQ, we must stand in opposition to such attempts.”

He continued: “Let those mentally disturbed individuals who are trying to nurture and promote these deadly diseases that destroy families, societies, and nations, receive mental treatment. But there can be no question of giving them indulgence. This is a cancer that can gradually bring devastation from your home to the entire nation. We cannot allow such an opportunity.”

Sarjis added: “Similarly, prostitution, which is a tragic form of abuse, can never be considered a profession. Rather, those who have already become involved in this field, either out of compulsion or by falling into traps, should be brought back from that path and rehabilitated by the state with all necessary support.”
