Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rain at some places in eight divisions including Dhaka of the country in next 24 hours commencing 9am on Thursday.
“Rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions," said a Met office bulletin.
During this period, day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country, according to the bulletin.
Besides, a mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Sirajganj, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Feni, Chittagong and Patuakhali and it may abate from some places, it added.
Meanwhile, the well-marked low over Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay moved northwards, weakened into a low pressure area and now lies over Westcentral Bay and adjoining area on Thursday morning.
It is likely to move north-northeastwards and weaken gradually during next 24 hours.
