Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, Mohammad Tajul Islam, has said there is evidence of substantial financial investment aimed at obstructing justice for the July-August mass killing, which was centered around the anti-discrimination movement.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday afternoon, he said that the prosecution has obtained concrete information regarding large-scale investments by the fallen government to disrupt the tribunal’s proceedings. Additionally, those orchestrating the obstruction have been identified.
Earlier, on Wednesday, he mentioned that the draft investigation report on Sheikh Hasina’s case related to the July-August mass killings had been handed over to the tribunal’s prosecution.
Tajul Islam further said that the draft report contains multiple pieces of evidence confirming the crimes, leaving no room for escape.
He added that once the final list is received, necessary actions will be taken. Meanwhile, the process of filing formal charges has already begun based on the draft report.
