Some 5.93% of candidates have passed the "Ka" (Science) Unit admission test for Dhaka University’s 2024-25 undergraduate admission program, while 94.07% failed.
The results were published on the university’s website on Monday evening.
According to the data, 7,437 candidates qualified, including 6,922 from science, 393 from humanities, and 122 from business studies.
Mahmdul Hasan Wasif, a former student of Notre Dame College, secured the top position in the Science Unit.
For the 2024-25 academic year, the Science Unit had 1,896 available seats (1,820 in science, 51 in humanities, and 25 in business studies). The competition was intense, with 146,694 students applying for these limited spots. This translates to approximately 77 candidates competing for each seat.
Detailed results can be accessed through the admission.eis.du.ac.bd website. Additionally, students can receive their results via SMS by sending "DU SCI <roll number>" to 16321 using Teletalk, Robi, Airtel, or Bangladeshi sim numbers.
Important dates for students include:
1. Successful candidates must fill out detailed admission forms and subject preference forms online from 3 PM on March 25 to 3 PM on April 16.
2. Candidates admitted under various quotas must collect and submit their forms to the Dean's Office of the Science Faculty between April 13-17.
3. Students can apply for result re-examination at the Dean's Office by paying a fee from April 6-10.
The Science Unit encompasses various departments from various faculties, including Science, Biology, Pharmacy, Earth and Environmental Sciences, and Engineering and Technology, along with institutes, such as: Statistics Research and Teaching Institute, Nutrition and Food Science Institute, Information Technology Institute, Leather Engineering and Technology Institute, and Education and Research Institute.
