Two ships carrying a total of 38,800 tons of rice from India and Vietnam have arrived at Chittagong Port.
This information was provided in a press release from the Ministry of Food on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, one of the ships, MV Trọng An, has brought 17,800 tons of Atap rice from Vietnam under a “G2G” (Government to Government) agreement.
The other ship, MV Rek Elite, has arrived from India carrying 21,080 tons of parboiled rice under a contract concluded through an international tender.
The Ministry of Food mentioned that the unloading process will begin on Wednesday after testing the rice samples, and necessary arrangements have been made for the process.
