The physical condition of the 8-year-old child rape victim from Magura has further deteriorated. Doctors are making maximum efforts, said Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief adviser.
He made this announcement at a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Wednesday.
The press secretary said: "The physical condition of the child from Magura has further deteriorated today. Her CGS has come down from four to three. The expansion of the brain stem and pupil has decreased compared to yesterday. The doctors at CMH are trying their best. We all pray that the child recovers. We are asking for prayers for her."
On March 5, the 8-year-old girl was sexually assaulted while visiting her sister's house.
Initially, she was admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital.
However, as her condition worsened, she was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Since her condition did not improve, she was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an unconscious state on the night of Thursday.
Her condition deteriorated further, and she was placed on life support on the night of Friday.
Since the night of Sunday, the child has been receiving treatment in the Pediatric ICU at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital.
The board has been formed with eight specialist doctors, headed by the Chief Surgeon of CMH. The board includes surgical specialists, doctors from the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Plastic Surgeons, Department of Pediatric Neurology, Anesthesia, Department of Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Surgeons, Department of Urology and Thoracic Surgeons.
