Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) is set to host a daylong book fair at Dhaka University’s TSC on Saturday, to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The organization will also honor women from various professions and female martyrs and activists of the July movement.
In a press release, Chhatra Dal announced the event under the slogan "Indomitable Women, Invincible in Strength", aiming to celebrate courageous women from diverse fields in Bangladesh alongside the female heroes of the July movement.
On that day, stalls from 15 renowned publishing houses in Bangladesh will be set up at TSC, offering books at a 25% discount.
Additionally, 10 stalls will be allocated for female entrepreneurs from Dhaka University.
An open discussion session will also be held, where any female student who participated in the July movement will have the opportunity to speak.
Dhaka University unit Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon told Dhaka Tribune: “On the occasion of Women’s Day, Chhatra Dal has planned a daylong program at DU’s TSC.”
He added: “We will organize a book fair in honor of women. Additionally, we will recognize women from different professions and pay tribute to the female martyrs and injured activists of the July movement.”
