Former superintendent of police (SP) of Kushtia SM Tanvir Arafat has been suspended.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Police-1 Branch) issued a notification regarding his suspension on Sunday.
The notification, issued by Senior Secretary Nasimul Gani on behalf of the president, states that SP Tanvir Arafat, currently posted at the Sylhet Range DIG Office, was arrested on December 26 in a case filed at Kushtia Sadar police station.
The court denied his bail and sent him to jail the same day.
Citing Section 39(2) of the Government Service Act, 2018, the notification confirms his suspension from government service.
During this period, he will remain attached to the Sylhet Range DIG Office and receive a subsistence allowance as per regulations.
