Update : 16 Feb 2025, 11:47 AM

The three-day Deputy Commissioner (DC) Conference has begun.

Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus inaugurated the event 10:30am on Sunday at the Shapla Hall of the Chief Adviser’s Office.

The conference includes open discussions between the chief adviser and the deputy commissioners.

This year’s conference will feature 353 proposals, with top priority given to improving law and order.

Other key topics include public service, infrastructure development, amendments to laws and regulations, and addressing public grievances.

According to the Cabinet Division, participating DCs and divisional commissioners will present these proposals.

The conference will include 34 working sessions with various ministries and divisions, held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium.

However, sessions with the Cabinet Division, along with the closing session, will take place at the newly constructed Cabinet Division building.

The cabinet secretary will preside over these sessions, with advisers providing directives on implementing ministry programs at the field level.

Unlike previous years, there will be no courtesy meeting with the president at Bangabhaban.

The DC Conference is typically held annually to facilitate direct discussions between government policymakers and field-level administrators. Given the interim government's role following the August 5 mass uprising, this conference holds particular significance as the first under the current administration.
