Five people have been arrested in Gopalganj during "Operation Devil Hunt."
The operation was conducted from Wednesday midnight to Thursday midnight in various areas of the Gopalganj suburbs and Kashiani upazila.
The matter was confirmed by Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Mohammad Sajedur Rahman. He said that the arrested individuals were sent to court on Friday afternoon.
The arrested individuals are Raju Ahmed, 48, son of Mohammad Ali Molla from Miapara and a Member of the Sadar Upazila Awami League; Gazi Masudur Rahman Palash, 45, son of Gazi Joaherul Rahman from Nabinbagh and President of the Ward No 12 Awami League; Md Mostafizur Rahman, 47, son of the late Abdus Sattar Molla from Fakirkandi and President of Sheikh Russel Children's and Youth Council; Ahmed Ali Khan, 60, son of Rustam Ali Khan from Nijra village and President of the Nijra Union Ward Awami League; and Nasim Fakir Faisal, son of Md Sekendar Fakir from Kathamdarabost village in Kashiani Upazila.
