The holy night of Shab-e-Barat, also known as the Night of Fortune, is being observed across the country on Friday with deep religious devotion and fervor.
To mark the occasion, the Islamic Foundation (IF) has organized special programs at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, according to an IF press release. These include religious sermons (waz), doa-mahfils, special prayers, Quran recitation, and Hamd-Naat.
Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain will deliver an Islamic sermon at Baitul Mukarram Mosque at 6:3pm, highlighting the significance of Shab-e-Barat.
Additionally, religious sermons will be held at various mosques after Maghrib prayers, followed by special munajat after Esha prayers.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has extended his greetings to all Muslims in the country and around the world on this sacred occasion.
On this night, thousands of devotees visit graveyards to offer special prayers, seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of their loved ones. Many also distribute food, sweets, and financial aid to the poor and needy as acts of charity.
