The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained an Indian national at the Dharmapur border in Dantbhanga union of Roumari upazila, Kurigram, before returning him through a flag meeting.
Confirming the incident, Jamalpur BGB-35 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Hasanur Rahman said the detained individual, Nur Alam, 35, a farmer, had mistakenly crossed into Bangladesh.
Mohiuddin, commander of Dantbhanga BGB 35 Battalion, said: "An Indian national was detained on Saturday morning for illegal entry at the Dharmapur border. Later, he was handed over to the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) through a flag meeting at the company commander level between Dantbhanga BGB and Sanjay Sadhu BSF headquarters."
