Eight students were injured in a clash during a program of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement activists at Khulna’s Zia Hall premises in Shibbari Mor on Thursday afternoon.
Conflicting accounts have emerged about the incident. One faction claims they were attacked by unidentified assailants, while another describes it as an internal dispute.
The conflict reportedly began after an argument between Sajidul Islam Bappi, coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Khulna, and Sakib Reza, a student representative of Government Majid Memorial City College.
According to Bappi, 20–25 unidentified individuals attacked them, leaving eight injured, including two female students, Sadia Akter, 18 and Diya, 18, who were hospitalized but later stabilized.
Sakib Reza denied the attack, stating it was a minor internal scuffle with no major injuries.
Sonadanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Toufiqul Islam confirmed they reached the spot but received no formal complaints.
In protest, students staged a demonstration at Shibbari Mor at 7pm later.
