Eminent human rights activist and Impact Foundation Bangladesh's founder trustee Mansur Ahmed Chowdhury has been elected as chairperson of the trustee board of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).
He is replacing the outgoing chairperson, Advocate Sultana Kamal, said in a press release issued on Sunday.
Besides, TIB's founding executive director Barrister Manzur Hasan and expert on women's empowerment, gender equality and good governance Tahera Yesmin have been made members of TIB's trustee board.
TIB trustee board member Faruque Ahmed took charge as the chairman of the audit committee.
Retired controller general, Defense Finance, Motahar Hossain, has been appointed as another member of the audit committee, it added.
The newly elected trustee board chairperson, Mansur Ahmed Chowdhury, is the entrepreneur of the much-discussed floating hospital Jibon Tori.
He has been working for a long time for the overall improvement of the quality of life of persons with disabilities, including ensuring their human rights.
He also played an important role in the formation of the National Disability Forum and served as its chairman.
He has served as a member of the Committee on Disability of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights.
