Begum Rokeya Day will be observed on Sunday to commemorate the contributions of Begum Rokeya, a pioneer of Bengali women's education and a social reformer who fought for equal rights for women and men.
In observance of the day, the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs has organized various programs, including the awarding of the "Begum Rokeya Padak" to women for their outstanding contributions to empowering women in the country.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus issued separate messages on Saturday, paying tribute to Begum Rokeya for her role in advancing women's education.
Both the president and the chief adviser congratulated the recipients of the "Begum Rokeya Padak 2024."
