The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Thursday arrested a person over his involvement in the murder of one Billal Gazi in the capital’s Mohammadpur.
The arrestee has been identified as Billal, also known as "Bhagne Billal" or "Agni Billal".
He was caught during a raid in the Shyamoli Housing area, Adabor.
Mohammadpur police station ASP Shihab Karim confirmed the matter on Friday.
On October 1, Billal Gazi, an employee of a Savar housing company, was ambushed by 20-25 members of the "Kobjikata Group," including Billal, in Mohammadpur.
Gazi was severely injured and later died at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. His mother filed a murder case naming 22 people.
Billal has been handed over to Mohammadpur police station. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining accused.
