The International Crimes Tribunal has directed two former Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officers to appear before it on December 2 in connection with a case alleging torture and disappearances during the previous Awami League government.
The individuals summoned are former superintendent of police Mohiuddin Faruqi and former additional superintendent of police Alep Uddin from the Barisal Range.
The tribunal, led by Justice Ghulam Mortuza, issued the order on Thursday following a prosecution application.
Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim later confirmed the development.
