Police on Wednesday night arrested Haji Salim’s son, former member of parliament for Dhaka-7 constituency, Solaiman Salim.
He was arrested from a house in Gulshan by the Chawk Bazar police.
He is set to be taken to the court on Thursday.
The police said they will apply for his remand for interrogation.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chawk Bazar police station, Rezaul Hossain, confirmed the matter.
He said that Solaiman Salim is an accused in a murder case filed with Chawk Bazar police station.
He had been hiding in a relative’s house in Gulshan.
Based on a tip-off, the Chawk Bazar police arrested him at around 1:15am on Wednesday night.
After the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government on August 5, Solaiman Salim went into hiding to avoid arrest.
His father, Haji Salim, was also arrested recently and is currently in jail.
