Additional Inspector General of Police (Crime and Operations) Md Akram Hossain has instructed police officers in the field to take strict legal action against robbers, extortionists, and muggers.

He issued this directive on Monday morning after the crime review meeting at the Police Headquarters, covering the three-month period from July to September.

Directing the intensification of the ongoing joint operation to recover illegal weapons, Md Akram Hossain said: "No leniency should be shown to those carrying illegal arms."

He instructed unit heads to increase direct surveillance to arrest fugitives and emphasized: "Effective measures must be taken to prevent highway robberies. No laxity will be tolerated in providing desired services to those seeking assistance at police stations. Police officers must be more dedicated to ensuring that people receive the services they seek."

According to AIG Enamul Haque Sagar from the Police Headquarters' Media and Public Relations Department, the meeting included detailed discussions on the overall crime situation during the three-month period, arrest warrants for convicted individuals, case investigations and trial outcomes, conviction rates, and other significant matters.
