Sk Bashir Uddin, the newly appointed commerce adviser in the interim government, has pledged to work towards improving the overall quality of life for the people of Bangladesh.
Speaking at a meeting with ministry officials on Monday, the adviser highlighted the impact of inflation, noting that people’s purchasing power had not increased proportionally; rather, it had decreased.
“If we look at the life of a worker, compromises have emerged in their standard of living.”
Addressing the officials, he said he did not expect any “magic” from them. “We will work collaboratively. You will have me as a partner. I will make every effort to support your work effectively and justly within my capacity.”
“If we can expand our trade and apply our skills to the fullest, it is possible to achieve good outcomes. I expect extraordinary dedication from the officials.”
Sk Bashir Uddin, managing director of AkijBashir Group, took his oath of office as an adviser on Sunday evening. Following his swearing-in, he was appointed as the adviser for the Ministry of Commerce.
