Over 50 individuals have been arrested over their connection to the execution of directives from a recently viral audio clip allegedly involving Awami League President Sheikh Hasina.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Media and Public Relations Branch Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrest on Sunday.

A large amount of evidence was reportedly seized during the arrests.

Talebur Rahman said that the audio clip circulated on various social media platforms directed individuals to organize illegal processions using images of newly elected US president and the American flag to destabilize the country.

The audio reportedly mentioned using Donald Trump's image and placards as shields, with instructions to capture footage of vandalism and disrespect in staged situations.

The plan, he added, appears aimed at damaging the friendly relations between Bangladesh and the US.

The DMP launched operations across various areas in Dhaka on Saturday and continued into Sunday, arresting 50 individuals allegedly involved with this "conspiratorial faction." Numerous provocative posters, placards with images, and cash were also seized.

The DMP official emphasized that the Dhaka Metropolitan Police remains vigilant against any conspiracies aimed at destabilizing the state.

He further noted that efforts are ongoing to arrest the instigators, financiers, and others involved in this scheme.
