Detectives have arrested Mostafa Kamal Uddin, former senior secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs' Public Security Division.
He was arrested from Chittagong on Thursday, according to media reports.
Rezaul Karim Mallick, additional commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the arrest.
He said: "A DB team arrested Mustafa Kamal Uddin. Several cases have been filed against him.”
