This year's HSC or equivalent exams started on June 30.
After seven exams, student protests started across Bangladesh against quotas in government jobs, causing the exams to be postponed.
The initial decision was to hold the postponed exams from August 11 and later from September 11.
However, after students protested inside the Secretariat in August, the authorities were forced to cancel the postponed exams.
They later decided that the results would be published based on the evaluation of the answer scripts for the subjects in which exams had already been conducted. For the subjects whose exams were cancelled, results would be published based on subject mapping with the SSC or equivalent exam results.
