In an office order issued on Monday, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced its first female Director of Flight Operations.
Captain Tasmin Doza’s appointment marks a significant milestone in the nation's aviation sector, as this is the first time a female has ever held this position.
Captain Doza was the chief of the Training Flight Operations Department at Biman, prior to assuming this leadership role, according to a media statement.
She has a strong academic and professional background, having graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) and obtained her flying license from the Bangladesh Flying Academy.
Captain Doza's career has seen her work as an instructor pilot for the Fokker-28, fleet chief and instructor for the Boeing-737, as well as an instructor for the Boeing-787 Dreamliner.
